Lifeworks FAQs

What is the Lifeworks programme?

What is the Lifeworks programme? Lifeworks is a 12-month employment support programme designed to help veterans, service leavers, and their families prepare for, secure, and sustain employment or further training after military service. This begins with a 4-day employability course which opens the door to a 12-month Forward Assist.

Lifeworks is written and presented by veterans for veterans.  We understand the issues and barriers veterans face as we have the lived experience. We also know that veterans have so many highly valued skills but just need to be aware of them!

No. Although Lifeworks was originally for veterans, it now also caters for families of veterans and serving personnel.

Veterans with more than one day of service (Regular or Reservist) and are over the age of 18.  Also families (partners and children of school leaving age and above).

Lifeworks operates nationwide, delivering 3+ courses a month one of which is always held at our home base of Aylesford, Kent.

The Lifeworks programme (course and Forward Assist) is free. We also cover the cost of transport to/from the course as well as hotel (if required) and meals.

Just yourself! All course materials are provided, including a pen!

The 4-day course opens the door to the 12-month Forward Assist programme that provides regular support and the opportunity to tackle modules where you may still be experiencing problems or need more guidance.
