The client who is a leading manufacturing company that provides surface and subsurface buoyancy, insulation and elastomer products and services to the global energy, defense, subsea communications, and oceanographic industries.
You will be expected to carry out Preventative/Reactive Maintenance and Installation of the Factory Production Plant’s Electrical equipment, in a safe and competent manner in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. Please note that his is an on-shore role and not off-shore.
You will be reporting to the Maintenance and Fabrication Manager and your main duties will consist of:
- Carryout Fixed and Portable appliance testing
- Carryout breakdown response including fault finding
- General electrical installation and maintenance
- Construct control panels
- Minimisation of Production down time
- Record maintenance work carried out
- Assist Mechanical and Fabrication Engineers when required
- Must be prepared to work shifts including nights and cover 24-hour callout when required
To be eligible for this role you will need the following qualifications, skills and experience
- Full recognised electrical apprenticeship
- Good general standard of education
- 18th edition qualification
- Knowledge of 3 phase and single-phase motor controls
- Ability to fault find using drawings and schematics
- Ability to work with most forms of cable and wiring mediums
- Flexible with regard to working hours
- Ability to work at heights from work platforms and scaffolds
- Health and safety awareness
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with written and spoken English
The ideal individual would probably come from a technical background, REME, RAF Ground Electrician or RN Electrical Marine Engineer who is seeking to join a company that will help them develop into the longer term, as you will be joining a team of 15 Engineers and progression is available for the right individual, as they are promoting an individual to take a supervisors post now.
The company operates 24 hours a day from Sunday 10 pm to Friday 10 pm and therefore they operate a shift system of days (6.00 am to 2.15 pm), Back (2.00 pm to 10.15 pm) and nights (10.00 pm to 6.15 am), as well having an on-call roster, so you will get an hourly uplift on Backs and Nights to your hourly rate and your working week will be 38.45 hrs per week.
