According to the Veterans Transition Review (Ashcroft, 2014), over 80% of military personnel who use the MOD Career Transitions Programme (CTP) find some kind of employment within six months of leaving the service.
The Royal British Legion’s 2014 Household Survey found that UK veterans of working age are nearly twice as likely to be unemployed as their equivalents in the general population (11 % vs. 6%). Many veterans find work immediately after discharge, but this does not always lead to long-term careers or employment.
